As the normalization process having started, hotels in Turkey are ready to welcome tourists but with stricter measures than ever. They train their employees about safety practices and reorganize common areas accordingly in order to achieve safer and healthier spaces. Yakup Demir, President of the Association of Çeşme Tourism (ÇEŞTOP) stated that they are doing the best they can to host tourists safely and added “15 hotels in Çeşme have now received Safe Tourism Certificate. We won’t make any compromises on mask, social distancing and hygiene rules.” The certificate is said to stick to strict rules and inspectors inspected the hotels closely. Some hotels are practicing stricter measures and disinfect rooms with ultraviolet rays rather than typical disinfectors.

It is required for hotels to prepare separate rooms for COVID-19 positive patients. A health insurance worth of $26 is offered by Turkish Government to cover the hospital expanses for COVID-19 patients. In Antalya airport, thermal cameras are used to take passengers’ temperatures and a center for testing has been established.

It is reported that the best and safest way to spend holidays is to stick around green areas with fresh air and wide spaces. Beaches are safe too, as long as people practice social distancing closely.
