Federal Skilled Trades Program: To qualify for the work permit under this program, you must have a full-time job offer of at least one year or hold a qualified trade certificate issued at the regional or national level. You must also have exam results showing that you can meet the prescribed foreign language requirements, at least two years of qualified and full-time commercial experience in the five years before applying, and all the requirements for a skilled trade according to the National Occupational Classification system.

Canadian Experience Class: Only individuals with work experience in Canada can apply for this program. You must have at least 12 months of full-time work experience in Canada, with a suitable work permit, and test results showing that you meet the prescribed foreign language requirements.
