How to Obtain a Work Permit in the UK?
The UK job market is one of the most successful in the world. Many people from all over the world have found a place in this market. The UK employs many people in different fields. Thanks to the opportunities, some people come here year after year to work. Of course, foreigners need a work permit to work here. In this article, we explained how to obtain a work permit in the UK.
People who want to work in the UK can apply for a UK work permit according to their profession and their area of expertise. It is possible to work in companies in the UK that request to employ foreign national workers, but there must be a vacancy in positions. The documents requested by the British Consulate vary according to the profession and the area. For the permits to be approved without any problems, there are some points to be considered during the application phase. First of all, the type of visa to be applied for must be determined correctly. A wrong choice can negatively affect the entire application.
Visa types are determined according to the jobs that applicants want to do. It is very important to choose the right visa type.
Tier 1 Visa
Investors and people with expertise in their field at the university and people in the professions in the exceptional talent class must apply for a Tier 1 Visa. With this visa, you can get the right to work continuously in the UK.
Tier 2 Visa
Athletes, persons with internal transfers, and those seeking a general UK work permit must apply for a Tier 2 visa. You can also have the right to work continuously with this visa. Tier 2 Visa must be obtained by non-European Union citizens or citizens of other countries except Switzerland. For this type of visa, the need for employees in the sector and the education/expertise level of the person are primarily examined.
Tier 5 Visa
The Tier 5 Visa is a permit designed for those who want to travel and work in the UK in several specific situations such as for charity and religious workers, entertainers, diplomatic staff, sportspeople, and only for a limited period (up to 12 months).
Domestic Workers in Private Household Visa
This visa is for private domestic workers who have worked for their employer for at least a year. It is valid for a maximum of 6 months.
Work permit applications are determined by the scoring system organized by the UK. If the person gets at least 70 points in their qualifications and the sector they want to work in, their visa application is accepted, and they are entitled to work in the UK. The invitation letter received from a company serving in the sector in which the person wants to work and the Certificate of Sponsorship of the licensed company in the local workforce test earns 30 points. It is worth 30 points for the person to receive 152.000 pounds and a higher salary commitment in the invitation letter from the company. An annual salary of £ 20,000 is 20 points. The adequacy of the person's financial resources and the English level of at least B1 are also calculated as 10 points. If the documents are complete, the applications are concluded within 15 working days at the latest. In rejected applications, the person has the right to appeal the rejection decision within one month.
If the person does not object to rejected applications and wants to re-apply for the UK Work Permit visa, the application fees must be paid again. Applicants can get their visa appointments with a petition they write to institutions such as the British Consulates or British Embassies, or they can make an appointment online.
