Amazon, one of the world's leading e-commerce companies, has decided to invest in Turkey. The U.S. company will build a logistics base in Tuzla, Istanbul, with an investment of over $100 million. At the facility, which is scheduled to open in the fall, hiring processes will begin for departments such as engineering, human resources, accounting, operations, and information processing (IT) for the logistics base to be built, while hiring of customer service and logistics teams will begin in the coming months. According to projections, the company will employ more than 1,000 people in a year. Perego, the company's vice president for European operations, gave the message "We trust Turkey".
Amazon first started selling online in Turkey in 2018. The company, which has been booming in the country since then, has decided to make a major investment in Turkey after five years. The company, which shared its investment plan with the public yesterday, plans to create jobs for more than 1000 employees within a year with the first logistics base in Turkey, which is scheduled to open in Istanbul this fall. An investment of more than $100 million is planned for the construction of the new logistics base, which will serve the recent increase in customer demand.
