With the travel bans being lifted, international flights to Istanbul and Ankara had started on August first. As of today, Antalya, Dalaman and Bodrum welcome their international tourists.
Taking off from Moscow, the flight arrived at Antalya Airport at 03.25 am.
Strict measures were taken in the airport due to COVID-19. Tourists left the plane wearing a mask and passed through the thermal cameras.
Upon leaving the airport, the Russian tourists stated their longing for Turkey.
Turkey has introduced the “Safe Tourism Certification Program” prepared by the cooperation between the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Ministry of Health. The effective measures against Coronavirus taken in airports, transportation hubs and accommodation are promoted to foreign diplomats, agencies and press members.
Timuçin Güler, general director of the advertising department at the Culture and Tourism Ministry listed the cities where guests can experience all the measures as Istanbul, Bursa, Kuşadası, Pamukkale, Konya, Ankara, İzmir and Antalya. He illustrated the importance of the program and described the positive feedback Turkey had.
Berlin had lifted the travel restrictions on Turkey after the low rate of new infections seen in coastal cities such as Antalya, Izmir, Muğlak and Aydın. Now with the travel bans removed, Turkey expects -and already saw a revival in the tourism sector.
